Digital Camera Images

Image resolution should be 1152 x 864 pixels (16 x 12 at 72 dpi) at the very least. Images with resolution lower than this cannot be used due to low printing quality, please do not send them. Tip: Low resolution digital camera images usually are under 200kb in disc space. A high resolution file will usually use 1mb or more.
Please do not crop or edit the digital images you send us in any way. To achieve the best quality, it is essential that we are given the original unedited and unresized digital camera images, we will do all the work for you.
.jpg file format. If your photos aren't already in .jpg format, please save your images in this file format (save-as command in your image editor) at the highest quality possible (low compression).
Professionally taken photos must be accompanied by a copyright release form signed by your photographer. We cannot and will not use professional images without this release. You can receive this form from the photographer or studio. Please mail them to:

Sending Scanned Images

Scan your prints at least 300 dpi, scaled at 100%. Many scanner`s default setting is 150 dpi. Make sure to check this and scan your prints at 300 dpi. (read your scanner`s help file if you do not know how to change the scanning dpi). If your scans are not at 300 dpi or greater please do not send them as they will not print well.

If your scans arent of good quality on your monitor, most likely they won't look right once printed either. If you're having a hard time getting a good quality scan or are just unsure about the process, please just mail us your original prints. Mailing instructions are below.

Mailing Us Your Original Prints

Cutting your photos will not be necessary. All cropping and photo retouching is done electronically within our photo editor.
We like to work with 3.5 x 5, 4x6 or 5x7 inch prints. Wallet sized photos can only be used for secondary photos (compliments the main photo) and not the main photo. 8x10 prints are fine but if you have a smaller version of the same pose in the 4x6 or 5x7, submit that instead.

More than 8 photos
Kodak Picture Maker reproductions of your photos, these do not print well. Submit only ORIGINAL photos.
Negatives, Polaroids, and ink jet prints. These cannot be used.

Sweet-n-Sassy Ink's Photo Taking Tips....

** Tips for Taking That Perfect Photo **

Don't be afraid to zoom-in. Take a variety of full body shots, facial close-ups and more.
Don't cover baby up with a blanket, we want to see those adorable arms and legs.
Take photos in natural light outside or near a window. Avoid taking pics at night with a flash if possible.
If a flash must be used back away and zoom in to avoid washed out photos.
Cant get baby to open there eyes wide enough? Try flipping off the light and taking with a flash. They will open those beautiful eyes right up.
Always take pictures at the highest resolution setting. You can always delete unwanted photos, so don't worry about disk space.
Wear something colorful, something to light and the subject cant get lost in it.
For baby announcements and party invitations use light colored backgrounds. Avoid black or dark backgrounds.
For baby announcements wait 2-3 weeks before shooting baby`s photo. Newborns usually have a red or yellow tint to there skin, this gives ample time for the skin color to become its natural color.
